Children’s Paradise Preschool & Infant Centers is proud to announce that Chief Operating Officer Lona Seitz has been named a finalist for the San Diego Business Journal’s 2026 Indispensables Award, which recognizes exceptional professionals whose leadership, expertise, and dedication make them essential to the success of their organizations and the communities they serve.
As COO, Seitz has helped guide the organization’s continued growth while strengthening operational excellence and expanding access to high-quality early education for families throughout San Diego County. Her leadership has contributed to the organization’s expansion, the securing of more than $50 million in state funding for early education, and the development of innovative systems that support Children’s Paradise’s long-term mission.

Children’s Paradise Earns Silver for Childcare – 2026 Best of North County Awards
Now in its fourth year, The Coast New Group’s Best of North County Awards celebrate the businesses, organizations and individuals that make North County San Diego an exceptional place to live, work and raise a family. This year’s program reached a record level of community participation, with more than 194,000 votes cast—a 46% increase over last year—making it the largest and most successful Best of North County program to date.
The recognition is especially meaningful because winners are chosen by the community. Parents, families and local residents nominate and vote for the businesses they trust most, making the award a reflection of the relationships Children’s Paradise has built with families throughout North County over the past 36 years.

A groundbreaking ceremony took place March 27, 2026, attended by many partners and community members.

Ramona facility expected to serve up to 230 children after it opens in mid-2027
A vacant Ramona retail space in a prime Main Street location is being demolished to make way for a 12,400-square-foot Children’s Paradise learning center. A March 27 groundbreaking for the $10.4 million project at 1721 Main St. was attended by community members and partners, including the San Diego County Office of Education, the California Department of Social Services, and First 5 SanDiego.
