Your Four Year Old’s Path To Kindergarten Success

by Monica Ibarra, Enrollment Manager

The year before kindergarten (some refer to as transitional kindergarten) is a time of meaningful growth—building confidence, independence, and essential skills for what comes next.

The year before kindergarten (some refer to as transitional kindergarten) is a time of meaningful growth—building confidence, independence, and essential skills for what comes next. At age 4, children are naturally curious, asking more questions, strengthening friendships, and beginning to explore early reading, writing, and math concepts in new ways.

Children’s Paradise Kindergarten Readiness classrooms for 4-year-olds are designed to support these key developmental milestones. These focused learning spaces give children the opportunity to grow alongside peers at a similar developmental level, with activities and experiences tailored to prepare them for kindergarten.

In the familiar environment your child already knows and loves, trusted teachers continue to guide their progress through research-based curriculum aligned with California guidelines. Individualized attention and support, combined with low student-to-teacher ratios ensure your child builds kindergarten readiness skills at their own pace so they enter kindergarten at age 5—ready, capable, and excited to learn.

Just as important, the consistency allows 4-year-old children to continue to thrive in the comfort of established routines, friendships, and caring relationships. This strong sense of belonging helps them take on new challenges with confidence and enthusiasm.

The year concludes with a joyful graduation celebration, honoring how far your child has come—and all that lies ahead.

If your child is four, and you are considering the option of transitional kindergarten, talk to your director about the benefits of our Kindergarten Readiness program and stay with us for one more year.
